Love at First Bite – Lexington, MA

Good food is the foundation of genuine happiness – Auguste Escoffier

Thai food is one of those cuisines in which you can have different iterations of it and still not have tried everything. It is a beautiful cuisine filled with salt, acid, and fat. Three components that together make your tongue explode with goodness. I can say I have had a lot of Thai food in my life, and a lot in the last 5 years – I have experienced so many different flavor explosions that it still amazes me that I can still have a new experience each time I try a new Thai place. One of those flavor explosions which is listed a little further down was the Kra tong Thong- a signature appetizer beautifully plated in mini pastry cups and filled to the brim with curried chicken, veg and spices. It was the literal perfect bite.

Love at First Bite in Lexington Massachusetts was a play on the senses from the moment you walk in. With some cool neon lighting to beautifully set tables, the ambiance was just what I was looking for. I made reservations for the five of us and its a good thing I did because it became quickly packed on a Friday night. We were situated in a corner booth- can I say how comfy the seating was? Each table also had these beautiful lotus flower candle holders with glimmering tea candles. I LOVED this touch. There was a lot of cool art painted on the walls.- I am a goner for cool walls, lights, and seating. Is that too millennial of me? 🙂

One of the cool coners

I was playing with my photography a bit on this one 🙂

The menu is extensive, but not overwhelming They have a wonderful mix of house specials, interesting dishes, street food and more. We ordered a couple of appetizers, some interesting curries, and duck- I love getting duck dishes at Thai restaurants because the flavors of thai curries and spices work so well with duck meat.

So let’s get to the food and what we ordered. All of us loved everything we got and said we just had to come back and try more things. I definitely want to come back to try some of their cocktails because those sounded next level. FOR REALS.
