Earl Gray tea is one of my favorites. The aroma from the Bergamot always makes me calm and with a bit of milk and sugar its a perfect way to start the day. Then come the cookies and who doesn’t love a good cookie or biscuit with their tea? Using brewed tea , crushed almonds and a bit of lemon extract really brought out the sweetness in these cookies.
There is always time to start or end your day with a cup of tea and some slightly sweet cookies. Try these out and let me know what you think of this quick and easy recipe.
Infused Sugar Cookies
1 1/2 Cups of Sugar
1 Cup of softened butter
1 Egg
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 Cup Brewed Earl Gray Tea
1/2 Cup Crushed Almonds
1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
1 Tsp Baking Powder
Pinch of Salt
2 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
Instructions:
Mix Flour, salt , powder and soda together. Set aside. Mix sugar, butter and rest of ingredients in separate bowl and then add to flour mixture making sure to stir completely through. Add by the teaspoonful to a greased baking sheet 2 inches apart. Bake for 10 min or until golden brown and take out and cool before enjoying.
