Food Truck Madness – Kerouac Park – Lowell, MA

Last Friday I went to a super fun event hosted by Made in Lowell – Food Truck Madness, where a bunch of Food Trucks come out, vendors are set up, live music is playing and delicious drinks are served. This is the third year and honestly, it was my favorite so far. Put me in a place with food and I’m happy- add music, friends, and drinks? Even more happy and that s what so great about where I live. Local organizations that are about community engagement always inspire me and in turn help me become closer to my own local community. This event was no different and between trying out different food trucks and chilling with friends it was a great night. Have you been to a Made in Lowell event? check out the FB for more information on all their events and see how you can become engaged in your community. Check out the photos below of my food and other fun stuff 🙂 Pork & Bean Arepa from Galeria Cafe – with them sauces! …

Friday Nights!

Last Friday was the kickoff to the “Friday Nights!” (End 68 Hours of hunger) event hosted by Made in Lowell and it was filled with music, food, drinks and fun for the whole family. There were a variety of food trucks, live music, and vendors to kick off the event this year and boy did I have a blast! This event was held at the Mill Yard at Canal Street in Lowell which was a great location because of the openness of the space. I tried Let’s Roll Eggroll for the first time and they were incredible. Since I love egg rolls, it was only fair I try what they had to offer and went with the “Jamaican” which was beef, curry, hot peppers and came with a Queso dip and the “Mariachi” which was chicken, beans, Mexican mix cheese and came with a Avo Ranch dip. Both were incredible and addicting, the dips complimented the egg rolls well and gave them extra kicks of flavor. Let’s Roll Eggroll Truck Delicious & varied menu!   …

Grand Tasting – The Lowell Food & Wine Festival

As a volunteer/food blogger this year for the Lowell Food & Wine Festival I was able to experience a different side of the event. Setting up, helping our vendors, and seeing the crowds get excited as it became closer to event time were all a wonderful way to show me how things are behind the scenes. This year we had a larger number of vendors, and many wineries and breweries. I tried my best to eat every single thing, from every single vendor because I wanted to get a sense of all the different flavors many of our local restaurants provide so I could share my experience fully with all of you. In the middle of all of this I was setting up for the Lowell Chopped Competition which I was judging (a later post) and super excited about because this year we had four chefs instead of two but more on that later. Middle St is one of my favorite streets in Lowell, cobblestones line the street and is reminiscent of an old Lowell and …

Opening Reception – The Lowell Food & Wine Festival

Last night was the Opening Reception for the Lowell Food & Wine Festival held at Gallagher & Cavanaugh, a local law firm in Downtown Lowell. This was my first time attending the opening reception and it was so incredibly delightful. Small, intimate with jazzy music being played live while people milled around munching on small appetizers and drinks. The setting on a rooftop deck with small tables, muted lighting, and benches was a perfect way to start the festival. Warm and inviting, Gallagher and Cavanaugh was the perfect location and I was incredibly honored to be invited. Kudos to Made in Lowell for kick starting another great festival with an amazing year behind them and more to come! Stay tuned for the upcoming blog posts surrounding the festival and if you are going to be attending have fun!!   Dressed by the lovely Ani at Humanity Style (Photo taken by Ani) Arriving! Friday Nights! – Lowell, MA

Last night I took part of a new event that Made in Lowell hosted. With food trucks, a beer garden, local vendors, live music, and a surprise appearance by The Party Band it was insane, incredible fun. Held at Point Park which is right next to the Innovation Hub in the Jackson Street area, the crowds showed up ready to support local, eat tons of food and drink some good ale. Vendor appearances included Rosie’s Cafe, Two Stylish Sisters, Flourish Cafe  , Red Antler Apothecary and more. I managed to stop by a few and buy some local made items and see Lowell at it’s finest; supporting small business and all the things that this community is made of. The food truck I managed to get food from was Yumm Bai Food Truck and I had the most amazing Barbecue Pork Buns and Veggie Eggrolls. Super fresh and flavorful! I had a great time at this event walking around the canal, listening to the great music and checking out the vendors who came out. Such a lively evening …

The Ball-Happy New Year!!

What a night last night! Full of friends, music, bites to eat and champagne it was a night to be remembered. Guests were decked out in Gatsby inspired wear; women in dresses and pearls and men in suits and ties looking incredibly dapper. At an amazing cathedral on Merrimack St in Lowell, MA we spent the night laughing, having fun, taking pictures waiting until the clock struck twelve to ring in the New Year. This event, presented by Made In Lowell was another sold out event following their many successes in 2015. From the venue to the entertainment everything was stellar as usual. In all the blog posts leading up to the event, this is what I imagined it would be and again I am so happy and proud to be a part of a fantastic city. A city that can continue to grow and prosper when organizations like Made In Lowell really push the people around them to be better and strive for better things. Here’s to 2016, enjoy the good times learn from the …
