Memorial Day Weekend Adventures

Something I like to say often is  “Adventuring along”.  Adventure is what you decide it should be, whether you stay local and find something to do you have never done before or you go to a different city and find new things to do; whatever it might be, it is YOUR adventure and this weekend I took that to heart. Rosevelt and I, with our friends decided to start our Saturday by a visit to the Crane Estate located in Ipswich, MA. While we didn’t get to do the house tour because of two weddings happening, they did let us quickly do a drive around and take some beautiful pictures.  Even just taking pictures and looking around at the grounds was gorgeous. You could see the ocean in the distance, and the gardens were beautiful. I fell in love with this place, because I felt like I was transported back in time. I can’t wait to go back and tour the house and have more time to really explore. Nearby is Crane Beach, which will we …

Yoga & Food at Humanity Boutique-Lowell, MA

Last night was a fun filled night at Humanity Boutique in Downtown Lowell. The lovely owner, Ani provided the beautiful location and our beautiful teacher Christine who was just certified taught the amazing Yoga class. To collaborate is such an important part of being a local business and when you combine six strong women who want to better their communities in a myriad of ways you get an amazing night full of ideas, thoughts, relaxation and a bit of time to rejuvenate the mind and soul. Sutra Studio out of the Mill No 5 on Jackson St. in Lowell is where Christine goes often and it is a wonderful studio that offers a sincerely local feel and ambiance. After this class, I want to go and try out the different classes because no matter which stage you are in Yoga has proven to be relaxing and helpful to those wanting some stress relief and also builds incredibly lean muscles 🙂 After our hour long yoga session in which we learned a myriad of moves that …

For the Love of Coffee

One of my favorite scents for candles is “Espresso”. I love the smell of freshly roasted coffee, the drip drip as it brews. I love all things coffee and I’m willing to try almost any flavor combination. I used to be a Starbucks junkie, not proud of it but I was I then shifted to all things local because I believe in the importance of supporting small businesses. In Lowell and the surrounding cities there are so many small coffee shops, and they are good;really good. Thus my decision for writing a blog post all about coffee. Yesterday was National Coffee Day and for one day everyone shared their Coffee pictures and selfies and I wanted to take all my coffee experiences and tell you which ones I think are some of the best. Believe me, I drink Coffee a lot. Even in the summer when everyone wants an Iced something I love a wonderfully made hot Latte. 🙂 Favorites: Brew’d Awakening Coffeehaus – Caramel Sauce Latte & Nutter Butter Latte Coffee & Cotton – …

Littleton, NH & Franconia Ridge State Park

This past weekend found me, Roosevelt and our friends in the White Mountain area. The weather was perfect for a climb and though we weren’t able to finish it because it was much too difficult we enjoyed some waterfalls along the way took some great pictures and boy did we ever get some cardio in. (I can still barely walk!) 🙂 Once we finally got back down we wanted to head to the hotel to get refreshed and to eat. Seeing as we just had a grueling workout and hadn’t eaten much save for trail mix and a protein bar and lots of water. Thayer’s Inn This historic Inn was established in 1843 and several presidents and other people of importance stayed here. Ulysses S Grant and Richard Nixon both stayed here. Bette Davis was also said to love Littleton, NH and went there a lot. The rooms were comfortable, the service fantastic. The water hot. After a long day that was all I needed.  They also had a wonderful Patio area that we all …
